First, thanks to mad_lee for the skill advice. Thanks to you, my Death Knight is performing quite a bit better.

I present my fifth no-MI 3 Superboss killer Death Knight.

I’ve seen very few Death Knight builds with or without MI that can beat All 3 SuperBosses. So, I wanted to create a versatile Death Knight that could take down Ravagar, Mogdrogen, and particularly Calagadra, without using MI & drug(pharma) but using only common gears.

However, unlike WitchBlade, Death Knight’s skills don’t provide any Physical Resist, so I had to search all over the Constellation of Devotion to get the roughly 63+ Physical Resist required to take down Calagadra.

It took me two weeks of pains-taking work to develop a build that can safely beat the hard-to-kill Calagadra with Death Knight, while maintaining a very painful insistance on developing a macho hero that doesn’t use shield, doesn’t use MI and dosen’t use drug(pharma) doping.

Here is My Macho Death-Knight

  1. Ultimate Edition
(With a goal of higher DPS and DA, Ultimate Edition was made. Devotion and some component & skill distribution changed)

:wrench: Urgent Fix(12/February/2024) :

  1. Replace component “Soul Shard” of left Ring with “Corpse Dust”, and
  2. a) Take back 3 points from “Fight Form” and 2 points from “Foul Eruption” or,
    b) Take back 5 points from “Fight Form”.
  3. Add 4 points to “Military Conditioning” and add 1 point to “Decorated Soldier”.
    fixed Ultimate Edition : https://www.grimtools.com/calc/a2dxjkQ2
I strangely felt that a) was a faster paced game compared to b). Take the one that gives you the feeling you like. Anyway, this will keep the Ultimate Edition much more stable. I took down Calagadra in 1min 38sec by a).

(My advise: The active skill “Shifting Sands in the Azraka constellation” must be associated with the Necromancer’s “Ravenent Earth skill” to trigger the probability of nearly 100% every second at any situation, as shown in the video. Do not associate it with any other skill, Ravenant Earth is an AOE and deals continuous damage over time for 5 seconds, so, it will trigger Shifting Sands with almost 100% chance if you’re fighting 3 or more enemies like SR. You’ll get additional about 27000 dps increase with +40% critical damage, enemy’s OA reduction, etc. In the videos below, SR 75-76 and SR 80-81, you can see the Shifting Sands (brightly glowing yellow sand, very similar to Calagadra’s sand attack) triggered almost every second.

  1. The Final Edition vs The Ultimate Edition
I estimate that the actual damage of the Ultimate is about 30000 DPS higher than the Final. Reduced the time it takes for my Death Knight to take down a Superboss by over 10 seconds. It also reduces the time it takes to complete SR 75-76 by about one minute, and is a very devastating force in combat. However, due to the inherent weakness of its physical resistance of 57, it is definitely at a disadvantage in the battle against Calagadra compared to the Final Edition, which has a physical resistance of 63. However, with the urgent fix, the relative disadvantage in fighting Calagadra has been completely overcome. I think the Ultimate Edition is clearly superior both offensively and defensively.

My Fixed Ultimate Edition Death-Knight’s Brief specifications:
DA: 2816, OA: 3230,
Apparent DPS: 190579, Dummy test Real DPS: 274368
Effective DPS taking into account Shifting Sands: 300000+

Physical resist reduction is max 124%
Base attack speed 197, max out 207
Life leech : default 18%(+ conditional life leech in devotion)
Run speed 135, max out 143
All resist are about (17~30) over 80, except for Aether resist(2 over 80), Chaos resist(2 over 80), physical resist 57, stun resist 80, slow resist 80, freez resist 149, life leech resist 31, reflect resist 51.

Survival Mechanisams of my Death Knight:

  1. WarCry (Damage Reduction by 30%)
  2. Turtle Shell in Devotion : 6100 damage absorption, 8 sec skill recharge
  3. Life leech: default 18% (+ conditional life leech in devotion)
  4. Dryad’s Bless : instant restore of 10%+848 health every 2.7 sec(at jump)
  5. Your strong will to survive by all means( :stuck_out_tongue:)

Below is a video of my (not fixed) Ultimate Edition Death Knight’s battle.
All battles were fought without drug(pharma) doping.
except for Mogdrogen(=80 over 80 lightning resist doping)

General Combat (including Morgoneth, RaShalga, Kra’vall, Lokarr, etc)

To Defeat Calagadra by sliding-only, as shown in the video, fight Calagadra with primarily Cadency+Warcry+Bone Harvest, and use jump and Gaze of Beronath occasionally.
Once you’re in the second half, be sure to drink health potions along the way.

If you have any improvements or questions, I’d love to hear them in the comments.

Made a GrimTools link for you.

What is this link?

it’s 1:1 the same build, there is no changes there?

I downloaded his .zip and exported to GT, so yes unless there is a bug in GT (sometimes it acts weird, for example if you assign a devotion proc to an item skill, but should be like 99% accurate).

@sk_choi GrimTools is a useful website for posting builds, as well as looking up items or monsters. It even has an import button that extracts information from your character file so you can share builds easily.

As stated in the text like this “Equipment/Skill/Devotion(01/February/2024, Seoul, South Korea :kr:): https://www.grimtools.com/calc/lNk0bEQ2” , GrimTools is a site I already know about. Thanks anyway.

yes, but why? the character already has a grimtools link in the OP? “it’s how i could tell your link was a 1:1 same build” despite different URL
choi’s Death Knight, Level 100 (GD 1.2.0.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator, right above the zip you used

I tried downloading the character and tried putting it in my save file but the character doesn’t show up, what gives?, someone help me out here

Do you have the Ashes expansion installed? If you just have the base game then you can’t use any builds that contain masteries from the expansions.

if you’re using cloud saves you can’t just post files into the save folder, will have to be imported
if you’re using local saves it might be an issue with the folder structure/the right folder
*assuming it’s not what Medea mentions ofc

Was asking David Buck. :grinning:

Sorry, I’m drunk right now.

Resistor cutters of the third type (without the percent sign %) do not stack with each other, but only the strongest one works.
Battlecry, ravenous Earth and Libra constellation do not enhance each other, only the cry will always work.

I already know that. Foul Eruption was adopted as an AOE skill and also for the purpose of triggering Azraka very often, not for RR. Ulkama was adopted for both mana and life leech and RR.

Ah, then I apologize))

Your point is very valid and something I should be grateful for. An apology is highly inappropriate. :ok_hand: :ok_hand:
