I present my fifth no-MI/no-doping all 4 Superboss killer pet conjurer.

I’ve seen countless posts asking "what fun do you get out of a pet conjurer who orders his pets to take down monster bosses while he just stands by and doesn’t even take them down himself?

Do you want to feel the fun of taking down tons of enemies, like warrior along with your pets, instead of just watching as a bystander? Do you want to take down all the super bosses quickly without the need for hard-to-obtain MI items?

The answer is my Bysmiel pet conjurer.

Resurrection Edition
Over the past year and a half since my last visit, multiple game patches seem to have brought too many changes to the Pet Conjurer. Testing my Bysmiel Pet Conjurer in game version 1.2.1.6, my pets melted like icecream after getting hit by the Ravager of Flesh’s Sunder attack, making gameplay incredibly frustrating. I almost gave up, but since it was a Pet Conjurer I’d raised for so long, I decided to resurrect it. After countless attempts, I resurrected my Bysmiel Pet Conjurer much stronger.

Equipment/Devotion/Skills have all changed significantly. Devotion is composed of highly aggressive constellations, and Acidic Spray is re-introduced not only to stack with bleeding RR(Resist Reduction) of Huntress constellation, but also to extend the range of Elemental RR of Rhowan’s Crown constellation and ensure Elemental RR persists even when the hellhound died. Further, the Conjurer’s body is protected by having shoulder armor, boots, and an amulet each absorb 10,000 damage.

The Conjurer’s apparent DA of 2524 may seem somewhat insufficient, but due to the Huntress and Bysmiel Bond constellations and jump attacks reducing enemies’ OA by 330, the effective DA during fight remains around 2850. This is proven by successfully clearing SR37.

Fang Edition
It’s been a very long time since I’ve posted anything about builds on this forum. I was really curious to see if I’d be satisfied with my heroes in the expansion FoA, so I decided to try out my Bysmiel pet Conjurer first. I haven’t yet completed the quests that let me take on the expansion’s new super boss, Uber Ne’Fatal (I might grow old and die before I finish these quests), but I’ve released this new edition a bit early to get a rough idea of the hero’s performance by challenging the existing terrifying super bosses.

To summarize the changes from the previous build, the “Resurrection” edition, the head armor was swapped out, I allocated a lot of skill points to Hell Hound, and I invested heavily in pets’ physical resist(aspect of the guardian) and armor rating(oak skin) to take down Callagadrа. Additionally, I used the Ascension bonus to significantly address the shortcomings of the previous build and focused on the RR(resist reduction) bonus.

Just like the Resurrection Edition, the Conjurer’s body is protected by shoulder armor, boots, and a amulet, each of which absorbs about 10,000 damage, so I’ve composed the Devotion using only highly aggressive constellations.

Will you do a version of this build with MI?

There are no plans to develop an MI version. This is because I think there’s still a lot of room for improvement with minor tweaks to skill distribution and debuffs. Especially if I make my pets more defensible so that they may live longer, there’s still a lot of room for time savings on super bosses.

In the game version 1.2.1.0, there are a lot of changes to Equipment’s Options of Pet Conjurer, and I’ve made a lot of changes to my Pet Conjurer build to match. The main direction of the changes was to make the pets survive longer against the attacks of the Superbosses. It’s not enough to satisfy me, but I think it’s a decent performance improvement over the old version. However, compared to my other no-MI Superboss builds, I think the game developers should give Bysmiel Conjurer more buffs in the next version of the game.

In terms of buffs, are you talking about increasing pet damage or survivability overall for player and the pets? Not really related, but it would be nice if they gave a flat damage increase to summon Briarthorn on the 4 piece bonus similar to the Beastcaller set.

By buffs, I mean both flat damage increases and survivability increases. I also think WindDevil’s movement needs to be improved. WindDevil is also a summoned object, and it would be nice if the developers could make it so that WindDevil follows the enemy in “offensive mode” and follows me in “defensive mode.” The current movement of WindDevil is annoying, as it unnecessarily follows me and doesn’t reduce the enemy’s elemental resist.

Melee warriors like Warder might benefit more from WindDevil’s current movements, but for summoners like Conjurer, the current WindDevil movements cause a lot of frustration.

Over the past year and a half since my last visit, I returned to find my Bysmiel Pet Conjurer nearly dead from multiple game patches. Overcome with tears and rage, I powerfully resurrected my Bysmiel Pet Conjurer.

Thanks for this build, looks great. First time I am playing a pet conjurer, can you help me with some build guidance for a new character starting on normal? I am not clear what kind of damage (physical, etc.) and how it should be directly engaged (ranged, melee, etc) or sitting off to the side.

Looking for some guidance on what kind of equipment (outside of +XX to pets) to be looking for in drops.

Tnx!

  1. First time I am playing a pet conjurer, can you help me with some build guidance for a new character starting on normal?
–>I don’t have a specific build guide for this build. It’s best to refer to the posts by several people who have put a lot of effort into providing level-by-level build guides for pet conjurer progression. If you can’t find a suitable guide, just focus on using Primal Strike intensively, and you’ll find it easy to reach level 94. In other words, up to level 94, it’ll be easy if you level up like a warrior using Primal Strike. Primal Strike is a lightning damage attack, so equipping other gear that boosts lightning damage will be a huge help. During the leveling process, the first priority is to maintain all resistances above 80. The next most important thing is to equip gear that increases lightning damage. According to my old memories, I reached level 94 without much difficulty using this method.

Upon reaching Level 94, you can transform and play identically to my build by simultaneously adjusting attributes, equipment, skills, and dedication to match this build.

  1. I am not clear what kind of damage (physical, etc.) and how it should be directly engaged (ranged, melee, etc) or sitting off to the side.
→ Upon reaching Level 94, depending on your choice, if you follows this build, your pets will fight on behalf of you; if you follows a different build for a warrior, you will fight as a melee warrior. My build is for the pet conjurer, so the pets handle the powerful attacks, and I simply take on a support role.
If you follow my build, your pets will utilize elemental + bleeding attacks(Because gears and Devotion transform/amplify each pet’s respective damage type into elemental damage). If you follow different build with different equipment/skills/devotions, the primary damage type used in that build will become your main damage source. For example, builds that equip gear summoning two Briarthorns and deal physical + bleeding damage are common.

This is all I can do to help at this point.

thank you this helps

It wasn’t just my own dying conjurer I resurrected.

And, replacing Stormbringer of Malmouth with a higher-performance version, swapping your boots for ones with faster movement speed, and replacing the boots’ component with Mark of the Traveler to increase slow resist will provide a much better experience.

This is a really neat pet build.
Do you think there’s a possibility for a necromancer based one as well?

Thank you for the kind words. Lately, I’ve been pretty exhausted working on six of my builds besides the revived pet conjurer version. However, I saw a decent build on YouTube. https://youtu.be/7a9AEz07DyM It might be quicker to ask the creator if it still works well now.

you would probably want some COF now when it has -chaos res

I’m back after 10 months… I haven’t been able to post about my fight against the new super boss from the expansion yet because I haven’t finished the grueling quests required to face it. However, I’ve decided to test and post my new Bysmiel pet conjurer build to get a sense of its performance by taking on the existing super bosses and high-level SR challenges.

IMHO using Manticore for the flat RR feels like a huge waste. Your build already has 2 flat RR sources, the Irys from the Bysmiel trinkets and the Bysmiel Command summon, both should be more than able to provide the flat RR all the time. Staff of Ratosh and Stag would provide way more bonuses than jackal and manticore (specially the extra pierce res that’s an easy killer from bosses like Fabius). Investing 2 points in the wendigo totem would be a great safety net for the pets. Grasping vines is a much easier skill to proc any devotions than doom bolt, not to mention that it also has some bleed dmg in it and modest crowd control.

That’s just my nosey honest 2 cents.

First of all, among your suggestions, the one regarding the devotion change is truly surprising. I didn’t think such a change would be possible. I’d like to test it out a bit first and then discuss it seriously.

It looks like all the version 1.3 builds that were registered on Grim Tool have disappeared? My registered Bismiel Conjurer build is gone too. What’s going on? Did I violate some rule?

my devotion : snap2

your modified devotion : your modified devo

Compared to my original Devotion, in the revised Devotion you proposed,

  1. Pets’ damage amplification rate is 140% higher,
  2. Pets’ attack speed is 3% higher, and
  3. Pets’ run speed is 8% higher.
  4. The pets’ DA is 6% higher, and their various resistance overcaps are higher.

On the other hand, in my original devotion,

  1. The pets’ OA is 1% higher,
  2. The Manticore constellation’s Acid Spray provides 28 RR (resist reduction),
  3. The pets’ health is 20% higher

Although the results of the tests using the two devotions made it difficult to reach a clear conclusion, I have the following hypothesis:
snap5

Your Devotion imbues pets with superior permanent attack power as shown in 1), 2), and 3), but it seems unlikely to ever surpass the RR 28 provided by my Manticore constellation.

However, as in the battle against Callagadra, when fleeing occurs very frequently, the Manticore Constellation’s RR is never triggered by the Wind Devil, so my RR advantage is completely neutralized, and your permanent benefits 1, 2, and 3 embedded in the pets actually come to the fore. In the battle against Callagadra, your Devotion posted better results on average, but the fastest time was set by my Devotion.

You say that the RR 25 provided by the Eldritch Hound and the RR 20 from Bysmiel’s Authority granted by the right ring can replace the Manticore’s RR 28, but the RR 25 from the Eldritch Hound applies to only a single target, and the RR from Bysmiel’s Authority lasts for only 2 seconds and has a cooldown of 25 seconds. In contrast, the RR 28 from the Manticore has a cooldown of 0.8 seconds, is triggered with nearly 100% probability by the three Wind Devils, and is applied as an area-of-effect effect to all enemies within a 4-meter radius. Therefore, I believe that the RR 25 from the Eldritch Hound and the RR 20 from Bysmiel’s Authority can never replace the RR 28 from the Manticore.

In conclusion, while the permanent benefits embedded in pets by your Devotion—namely 1), 2), and 3)—do not surpass benefit 2) of my Devotion, your Devotion is clearly superior in situations where the Manticore’s RR is never triggered; thus, I am predicting the results shown in the diagram above. Also, the modified Devotion you proposed provides more consistent damage output than my Devotion and offered a way to acquire the northern constellations from Devotion.

Additionally, you recommended “Grasping Vines” as a skill to trigger the Eldritch Hound more reliably. I agree. I used to use Grasping Vines, but for aesthetic reasons and personal preference, I simply replaced it with Doom Bolt. Also, you suggested using the Wendigo Totem to ensure the pets’ health and longevity. I agree with that as well, but it requires sacrificing other skill points, I personally prefer not to use totems, and—most importantly—I have absolutely no spare slots left to register a totem.

I am very grateful for your truly remarkable and insightful comment, and I have rarely tested someone else’s recommendation so thoroughly.
