that was my concern lol. the auras might kill normal mobs, but couldn’t imagine them on bosses.

Don’t want to claim it’s unplayable, Volek said he used it successfully, devotions are offensive in the build which helps, all these auras and procs from different sources do add up but I think a more standard build will be more well rounded.

Well it’s an aura build, single-target attacks defeat the purpose :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s definitely an effort put into it to make it as good as possible. For some auradin vibe might be more important than more single target damage :+1:

How about… no active attacks at all? This is the build I made for the Passivist challenge Shieldbreaker, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Not the biggest AoE but still good enough for most mobs.

i looked up retaliation builds and was like “sure I’ll try a sentinel” im 10 and DEE is painful to use. found the first ability i can say im not a fan of. obviously not something id be using later, but damn it’s meh.

I like DEE, even made a beginner guide for it :stuck_out_tongue: enjoyed through the whole leveling, even on Vet, probably was buffed since then even. But if you’re a Big AoE spoiled brat then I get it :wink:

i just came across yours. I was using someone elses and they put point into focus gaze which makes it flow like crap

That can be good too but not from the start but later in an actual build. If you alternate with other abilities, like Ravenous Earth or Aegis or Guardian it’s better. Or if there was a spam Acid component skill but there’s not…

Here’s some good build with Focused Gaze DEE [1.2.1.5] Rotting Gaze: 4:00 Crucible Gladiator 150-170, SR 36, all Celestials Vitality Decay Conjurer + bonus build Dark One Conjurer for example

I made Poison Retal DEE + Aegis build once but then Dot Retal was mostly removed. I don’t miss it much, it doesn’t suit Retal well imo.

it hits like a truck with focus gaze, but when you’re running just that at level 11 the downtime feels like ages. i swapped to yours, much better. The other isnt bad.

I didn’t dive into things too hard before. Did a forcewave build and maya conjy build then life got busy.

Druid is my favorite class combo. So much fun and lightning devotions all rock.

I think elemantalist and vindicators are more fun since they have more to bring to the table for lightning casters in terms of “fireworks” and visuals. Druid is just way more safe and makes everything crit like crazy.

I just finished this SSF char

The rifle and insane living ring was shopped in ancient grove, spent almost 1h vendor reset there - worth it!
The boot is also insane, I got 5!!! Double rare in a row :open_mouth: pure RNG madness.

AoE is nuts. single target dmg is lacking a bit…

Edit_ just did SR32 Easy peasy

you could try leveling with the helmet + medal + cadence axes as phys and then transition into:
cold war cry + cold cadence blademaster

as has been said word of pain tends to fall off and lack in single target but most of the time you can combine it with something that covers these shortcomings like chaos wop + doom bolt. i even tried aether wop + shadow strike. and a build that works pretty well is lightning wop vindicator with all the shaman support on top (can be levelled with bargoll’s hearts i guess). as far as i remember it does pretty well even vs bosses, memory gets hazy on survivability ofc (dunno if these converted leech devotions are any good)…

There’s Chaos WoP (with Chaos WoP conduit) + Doom Bolt + Reaping Arc Deceiver on the forum like that. With Tenebris.

Nice. You have Totems + Devils + Box + Chain Lightning + Storm Shards and even Lightning Word of Pain on top of that :laughing:

:bat: no good because only like 1/4 of it is converted but that’s not a problem since it can be tweaked in a modern way to more Health Regen in devotion, Gollus rings and drop Shaman mastery to 40 and put these in Mogdrogen’s Pact

I fought Callagadra with a similar kiting Light’s Defender (Raka’Jax instead) without Seal with all Health Regen possible and it was still difficult unfortunately. Had to be very careful and kite hard. But for Crate and SR these builds are very good
