ComboMod Testversion

yes, Vision Bosses are completely optional, you can hunt them down for additional loot and materials if you like to :slight_smile:

btw, another update is uploading right now which targets mainly the ONB section to also be better able to hunt them down when starting them straight outta elite difficulty on lowlevels, still hard but doable, more statvalue adjustments might follow by feedback as usual :slight_smile: the update will be ready in a few moments:

#############################################################################
0.9g:
#############################################################################

  • CHANGE: ONBs → greatly increased the RESPAWNTIME of the Omega Minions to prevent playercollapse on this, they will ONLY respawn if the player takes AGES to bring the ONB down, furthermore they will stick more to the origin place of the ONB itself for better protection;
  • CHANGE: ONBs → reduced overall attack and defensive power of the ONB Guardian, foremost for lower levels, adjusted skills and behaviour to be less overpowered but still challanging, foremost for low levels aswell;
  • CHANGE: reduced OMEGATOTEM uptime and adjusted respawntimes foremost for lower levels, scaled needed values for this totem aswell;
  • FIX: ONBs → LOOT → OMEGA mastertables + leveltables adjusted to drop endgame items at the according characterlevel to avoid dropping them on lowlevel encounters, same goes for Archetype Mercs T3 and Headhunter craftingmaterials; furthermore correctly applied drop of global currency for each partymember;
  • CHANGE + FIX + NEW: ONBs → the skills of all ONBs are now integrated into the mod to avoid basegamechanges and are scaled new with a equation “charlevel*1” to the playerlevel, furthermore some minor skill adjustments are included! in addition some more balancing to the ONBs, the Guardian and their Minions have been done in terms of statvalues via their biosfiles;
  • CHANGE + FIX: Grim Souls → have their fx for lootindication now correctly applied;
  • CHANGE: Vision Bosses → Tyrael → decreased overall attackpower of some attackskills a bit to avoid oneshotting;
  • FIX: some UNIQUE gearitems got an increase in their ARMORVALUE to be in line;

Cheers.

how do i install everything

FILECONTENT:

· “RELEASE#XXX - MAIN.zip”:

  • folder “ComboMod”: the mod itself, simply copy this folder into your Grim Dawn mods directory, i.e. “c:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\mods”;

· “RELEASE#XXX - OPTIONAL.zip”:

folder “Optional but highly recommended”:

  • “CLASS-SKILLS.txt” → an overview on all available class skills that can be modified an augmented, mainly as resource for modders;
  • “ComboMod NOTES.pdf” → THE overview on what is going on in this modcompilation IN DETAIL, you can also see on what i am working at the moment and what has been updated etc;
  • “load_screens.zip” → new loadingscreens to increase diversity, used with an AMAZING tool by powbam from the official Grim Dawn Forum → [Tool] Loadscreen Switcher → IF you want to have a WAY bigger pool for loadingscreens then only three, i HIGHLY suggest to download this tool → you simply start it BEFORE you load the game, the setup is pretty much self-explanatory, you choose the folder with various pictures you wish to have as loadingscreens, then you check the “randomize” box (i have set the swaptime to 12 seconds) and you are good to go, now you have ALOT more options for loadingscreens to choose from, any you wish, simply add the provided ones here if you like or simply grab your own ones :slight_smile:
  • “DPYes.ini” → configfile for DPYes, preconfigured;
  • “OPTIONAL_SETTINGS_ADDONMODS.zip” → optinal files to put on top to give a full overhaul experience, give it a try :slight_smile: installation the usual way, simply put ALL the included folder to your SETTINGSFOLDER!

^^

Where us is the settings folder

settings folder located in your documents folder at “C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\settings” or in the steam application folder itself, you should always choose ONE to prevent conflicts.

for those who experience any crashes related to inventory opening or shrine activating should try to turn off the new option “New Item Highlight” and see if the crash still persist… :smiley:

Cheers

Howdy :slight_smile:

More fixes will arrive in a moment with the newest patch which is uploading right now.

#############################################################################
0.9h02:
#############################################################################

  • CHANGE: added +1 Bristly Fur to incredients to craft the Pierce Resistance Potion;
  • FIX: GD Mod Suite Error Resolving on broken links and missing tags done so far;
  • ATTENTION: it is also VERY IMPORTANT AT THIS POINT IN TIME (JUNE 2024) that you turn this new setting in the gameoptions OFF → “New Item Highlight” → this setting WILL crash and i am UNSURE if i can solve it! in investigation…!
  • FIX: factions → Nemesis spawns as they are now fully in control by those controllers;
  • CHANGE: “Most consumables are now organized into one of three categories: Elixirs, Oils, and Tinctures. These categories share cooldowns and you can only benefit from one Elixir, Oil and Tinctures at any given time. The Aether Cluster and Potion of Clarity are notable exceptions.” NO! MOST consumables remain usable at once, EXCEPT for Elixirs ONLY, those share their cooldown as it is intended by the basegame, that is pretty much fine for me and impact on overall gamestyle will not be this uberhard :smiley:
  • FIX: hud element STUN RES shown in page 3 now correctly;
  • NOTE: more minor updates and fixes included, by far not finished with basegame updating but prepared for the next days :slight_smile:

Hey man thanks for the answer, I totally got this mod mixed up with the faster leveling mod, sorry! You have come so far with combomod, it has turned into something pretty amazing. I screwed with it when you first went public, there are so many mechanics now, I feel like I am playing PoE for the first time again haha.

I really like how much you allow the player to tune their experience. My first hc character I made didnt get past level 2, after I killed a pack im pretty sure a nemesis appeared and shit on me really quick, I am still not sure what happened! Was that Crate’s doing with the Nemesis changes or was that some type of uber you did yourself?

Regardless, you have done an amazing job. Once I learn all the mechanics I will roll hc again, maybe I will hit level 5 this time :rofl:

If you picked up a Grim Soul, i think a Vision Boss appeared and slapped you out, can be evil if not prepared for those yes, more balance to come, but you can always skip those as they only are here for extra challence and loot, so all good, the next time you know then :slight_smile:

Thank you very much, yes the initial intention was to go a bit into the PoE direction <3

Ahh is that what got me? I know I saw an option to decrease the auto loot radius, Im guessing that is pretty much mandatory for new characters.

If PoE level depth was your intention, you are doing a pretty damn good job. Grim Dawn obviously is pretty constrained compared to PoE mechanically, but there is a lot potential here and its a nice change of pace coming from Dawn of Masteries and Grimarillion. Its really cool being able to lower exp. leveling is actually meaningful, I love it. Again, congrats on your project and I will most def be following along waiting for all the interesting ways you come up with to nuke my characters. Thanks man!
