⬆ How to level top 20 (an onion) builds in Grim Dawn [1.2.0.5]

thx for sharing.

thats my plan for deathmark dervish before the set.
the medal for fire to cold rf should be easy farmable at 100.

and that is my hero before ludrigan

Will Okaloth helmet count as easy to get item?

Nice item. thx for the advice.

I hadn’t even considered target farmable legendaries or legendary faction crafts.

I would say it’s an “easy to get” item. 5.5% drop chance from an open world boss. Plus you can also farm celestial lotus and eldtrich essence.

The only problem is that you need the conduit first, right? So you’ve already done at least a few totem runs and dungeon runs. You might have already found comparable helmets in that time and the time would perhaps be better invested somewhere else. If not, the boss’s helmet is definitely worth an evening.

I would say conduit takes cold RF to the next level, without you lose the necessary conversion, so it’s vital item. And you can’t use it, while leveling.

Okaloth have same problem, but at least it’s target farmable. For level 100 budget build, I like to take Fettan mask, it’s still +1 both classes, but it’s guaranteed drop.

A couple notes on your druid as a pre-Ludrigan build, from my recent experience:

-I used a slightly modified version of the Ludrigan devo map to drop Ghoul and include Elemental Storm. The full Ludrigan set gives flat RR to Panetti’s through the medal but without it you’ll have none.

-To continue on that, I think investing in Panetti’s before Ludrigan is working against you here because it’s just the normal channeling skill where the full set changes it to a cooldown nuke. In other words, you’d have to stop channeling Panetti’s to cast CL, and vice-versa. A better idea might be to invest in transmuted Callidor’s with a Kymon badge since it converts it to full lightning.

-2 piece Stormserpent (helm & chest) are good phys res fillers and they drop frequently in ultimate.

Just some food for thought!

@Nery The avenger warder section doesn’t link a warder build? Sorry I’m new, so I might just be confused. @Ulvar1 it says its supposed to be your guide do you know which one it is supposed to link to?

you can use this until Nery edits the OP

Is there any new insane tech for leveling an acid melee dervish or is Stupid_Dragon’s guide still sufficient? I only ask because devos get changed all the time.

not sure what you mean there, devos rarely get changed in any negative way so an old devo guide can be just fine.
What might change is optimization desires, which then changes what stats might be chased on devos.
What’s changed most since dragon’s guide is 1.2 sunder and enemy phys dmg change. Making builds try to generally aim for slightly more defences/HP and DA than prior, but ex most Acid routes are generally the same; hp just got added to many of them.
If you want inspiration i’d check the beginner compendium and look at Honorabru’s? Acid guide, mix and match element’s you like [1.2.1.0] Beginner Dual-Wield Acid Dervish, fast farmer, SR65+, Lokarr viable

For the Belgothian Infiltrator:

Starting from the idea in the op that you need an autoattack replacer and Beronath’s will come with conversion issues, I tried this:

  • leveled as WoP Inquisitor up until Rotting Croplands
  • got two Dermapteran Slicers (though from last I played a build with them, it seems that one is enough for full pierce covnersion now? the wiki still says 50%, but grimtools and game say 100%)
  • got a Mistborn Talisman relic
  • changed to endgame build

Troll’s rage (from Mistborn talisman) replaces autoattack, gives flat physical damage which I think is converted to pierce by the weapons and can proc devotion ability.

At level 90, with faction gear, it felt similarly strong to a cold saboteur with faction gear (with both chars using the relevant MIs), so it worked ok. Not sure how it would have compared to a cold infiltrator.

Well, cold Infiltrator can utilise Beronath component better than Pierce and you will have the option of using 1x Oleron blood, if you can’t have 100% wps.

In the current “meta” you have better class options for cold melee though and leveling pierce melee as cold probably wouldn’t satisfy most players. For pierce, I would suggest leveling Blademaster with Cadence, both Reaver’s claw version and Belgo are viable for an end game build. But if you already have full Belgo set and level 100 Infiltrator, you can always make this build, since it’s pretty good.

I am doing this build and I am loving it. Trying to figure out how to do the devotions (I am only level 30 atm) but otherwise its baller. I got bored and went into Ultimate at level 30 and was able to kill things just fine so yea.

Glad you’re enjoying it so far but just be careful hanging out in Ultimate that early… physical damage ramps up pretty quickly and you won’t have a lot of phys resistance available until later.

Devo route is a bit tricky but here’s one way to do it:

Crossroads order
Tortoise
Crossroads chaos
Jackal
Crossroads eldritch
Hawk
Sailor’s guide
Behemoth
Quill
Harvestman’s scythe
3 points in rhowan’s crown
Oklaine’s lantern
Crab
refund quill & crossroads order
Tempest
refund crossroads eldritch
Widow
refund Sailor’s Guide
Ultos

Good luck!
