Lightweight Mod for Speeding Up the Leveling Process

There are a few conflicts that would break it. I might update my mod in the coming weeks, maybe I add my own version of it or a short guide for modding my mod.

Alternatively, I linked a patch (sort of) for Dawn of Masteries in the OP, but not sure if it still works well, most likely not.

Patch 6

Changes

  • (+) Added the Recycling Feature from the last Nydiamar Update
    • Simply click with a new default skill on the ground to convert all items into Iron Bits
    • Sometimes causes a loot explosion
  • (–) Reverted Level and Devotion Cap back to default values, removed Pahr Gon Levels
    • If there is interest, I might create a short guide on how to increase it yourself
  • (–) Removed Duunart Swamp
  • (+) Many minor changes & fixes

(+) = Both versions
(–) = Non Lightweight version

I justed wanted to fix some things that were bothering me, such as the broken tower defense game (fixing = removing), so there is not much to this update (still took me half a day, the mod is a mess, though it works).

Enjoy. ~

Follow the instructions from the Opening Post!

Plugging my Grim Dawn Enemy Randomizer mod, you should be able to play it with this mod just fine. Simply drop the randomizer files into this ones mod folder → don’t overwrite anything → put the main.lua attached below into ā€˜resources/scripts’ (overwrite) → then install the randomizer normally. main.zip (415 Bytes)

just curious how the two (Lightweight Leveling and Smash 'n Grab) work together. currently on the road so i can’t try first hand for a bit, but wondering if this mod (Lightweight) adds much on top of S+G as that does a ton. thx!

I’m watching you…

It works with no problems whatsoever. I’ve played through the whole game since I tried the mod combo for the first time and had no issues. The only important thing for everything to run smooth is to use SmashNGrab as basemod and load Lightweight Leveling as custom map.

How do I add more skill and devotion points?

I currently don’t have anything set up, so you would have to mod my mod. I assume you want to increase the devotion cap and make level ups reward more skill points.

In short, set up the AssetManager (inside the game’s folder) → Extract game files → Select my mod from the ā€œModā€ list → Then click Database and import records …, import records/creatures/pc/playerleves.dbr → Click on the Database tab, find and edit the new .dbr → Right-click the .dbr and click Build.

There is a modding guide too (also inside the game’s folder).

Hello! I’ve created a Grimarillion compatibility patch for the Lightweight version of this mod, based on the previously maintained Dawn of Masteries compatibility patch:

I played quite a bit of Grimarillion v93 with this patch and things seemed stable, but I wouldn’t say I’m deep enough into Grimarillion or modding to really know if anything was significantly broken. I’ve recently updated this compatibility patch with:

  • Lightweight - Patch 6
  • Grimarillion - v94a

I don’t offer any support for this compatibility patch or guarantee future updates, but feel free to check out it.

@Van_Houck: Hopefully you’re okay with me sharing this - both you and the Grimarillion author are fully credited in the README. Please let me know if any issues!

Hey, thank you for taking time to create this patch, much appreciated! I will put a link to it in the OP.

I think if the dog can be summoned and the spheres opened, then everything else should be working too. Actually, there is not much else, almost like the mod is a bit lightweight.

Can confirm that the the doggo, the merchant, the spheres, and the new recycler all seem to be working! It’s a little hard for me to tell if all of the Grimarillion added components can actually drop from the spheres when popped, but I’ve seen a handful pop out so it should be good enough.

Thanks for your work on this mod!

hi guys, i tried to install as advice and start playing with custom game, nothing changed
could anyone advise me what action to do?

I think I’m having an issue, I’m not sure how to troubleshoot. I installed the (L) version and followed the instructions to make the changes apply to the regular campaign. I can summon Sam, so that much is working, but after a few shattered realm runs and some regular gameplay I have not seen a single Beutekugln, Tome of Knowledge, or Iron Potion drop. Any ideas? My character is level 60.

I gave the (L) version a try (in the regular campaign, so with adding the files to the mods folder and using /basemods). I created a new level 1 character (level should not matter, besides drop chances) and played for like 10 minutes until I dropped my first Beutekugel, so it seems to be working.

Now I never tried SR with this mod, to be honest. So maybe different loottables are used there, though I doubt that. Unfortunately, I don’t have a character to test it with …

Anyway, maybe you got unlucky (outside SR), try playing a bit more, let me know if still none drop! Tomes and Potions are rare, though, so don’t expect them!
