[Mod] Reign of Terror

Something to check if it works is.I play with a barb i used axes it was working fine.I got a pair of inferno scepters.So respected so i can use it.I added a skill into scepters mastery but it did not increase the damage.With axes it worked fine.

Each act boss now has 40% chance to drop at least 1 D2 unique / set item so this should no longer be an issue. Ubers and goblins have 100% chance.

For me personally, I came here to play a D2 game in GD, recognizing it is still GD. I didn’t come here expecting perfect emulation of the classes but something comparable to relive the fantasies of each former class in GD style. I’ve not attempted to play GD classes in RoT, I’ve had no desire to mix with GD classes personally, and will simply play Grimmarilion for the base classes. In fact, in Grimmarilion I only play GD classes currently, because I need more experience in the base game before moving beyond the original classes, before I try mixing with any modded classes. I just happen to like the modding side of things more than the core game (I should have given the newer vanilla GD a chance though). Starting in Epic in Grimmarilion in particular without needing to finish any feats is important to me because of the greater challenge from level 1!

My primary fix with RoT, and why I play it, is to relive those D2 moments with much better mechanics GD has to offer, while still retaining that D2 feel. To relive this fantasy, for me, I need to be playing a D2 class and not a GD one. That’s me personally. Some may come here to get another campaign for their GD skills, or even to mix with a D2 class for the fun of it! I guess that’s great too.

The question is, does the GD content as it currently is messing with the D2 fantasy people play this mod for? So far, besides balance issues, I don’t think so. But I’m being unselfish in this perspective. We certainly need more D2 items to benefit those classes. Can this be done while maintaining GD classes and items? I have no idea, LOL.

No offense but you sound like a kid that lost his toy.Why so much hate bro.If you don’t play the standard classes then you most prob don’t know half of the mechanics.If you so call want a challenge play Diablo 2 median xl.I use to play that on x8 players before Macro changed it.THIS IS NOT DIABLO.It’s a conversion.There was a pole and most people want the gd classes because it’s more class choices.

Everyone which most prob are older than 20 played diablo 2.If you want a full conversion play diablo 2 on starcraft engine.No need to rant around and throwing your toys out of the cot cause you don’t get your way.Man up don’t be a biatch Ram and Elvenroth put a lot of effort into this mod.If you can do better go ahead

I do play the standard classes, just not in RoT, I simply haven’t done most of the combos yet and have no need to play other classes in Grimarilion.

Last time I checked the poll indicated most wanted the GD classes removed from RoT and that the version with GD classes would stop receiving updates but would be available.

I don’t think you actually read my post or understand it, or perhaps you are talking to someone else?

As far as difficulty, I was the first player to beat Back to Hellfire (long time friend with the mod creator) as a monk in hell mode. As far as Median I never could get much interest in it. I’m more interested in the current version, it’s come along way in my opinion.

EDIT: Correction, I was the first to beat BTH with a Bard.

I don’t find @D2ModPlayer’s post hateful or offensive so I’m not sure where is this coming from. Nevertheless, I can confirm that the results of the poll were in favor of removal of GD content from RoT. Don’t remember the exact numbers but it was more than 65%.

it would take a couple of minutes, all you need to do is edit a handful of files.

Now if you also want to get rid of all vanilla items, affixes, etc. it becomes more involved, but that probably only takes a few hours as well. So no time at all compared to creating something new, let alone something the size of this mod.

imo, strip the vanilla classes and gear from the mod and wait for modders to make their own compilations later down the road. I don’t care either way, but Ram already said the community was in favor of making the mod into a ā€œpuristā€ D2 mod.

Once you guys strip all gd content, will you create new unique/set items for shoulder/pants?

What about constellations? I wonder if you guys will mess with those.

I know your priorities are bug fixing/enemy rebalance atm. Just wondering how you’re going to approach these topics, items d2 didn’t have and constellations.

I cant seem to figure out why this is happening… installed the mod 4 times and everytime i get this… please help.

New items would have to made to fill the gap after removal of GD gear, including pants and shoulder slots. Constellations would stay because they are welcome addition.

This is a result of incorrectly extracted mod files.

Make sure your mod path looks like this: Grim Dawn/mods/ReignOfTerror
and inside you have to see the following files/folders:

Hi Ram, I’m stuck in act 2 without being able to progress. It’s asking me to deliver the Horadric Scroll, but it disappeared because I had no bag space. How can I rectify this?

Bruh im not gonna go into an argument but all i saw was you crying.Soooo.You want to change it cause you said so…I enjoy GD and Diablo classes.Hell i do the hardest build choices in Grimmilion and in DoM.I enjoy to experiment with classes.I said no offense but all i saw was you ranting on how you want the game to be.Disregarding how others wanted the game.I think Ram did a hell of a job creating this mod.

Every quest item in the mod should be re-obtainable upon starting a new game session. If you still cannot find the scroll then continue further as the next quest should trigger itself after you pick up one of the required quest items: Horadric Cube / Staff / Amuler of the Viper.

question tho, the dungeons in GD it give you penalties right? like 30% resistance deductions, mobs get 10 hp lifesteal, or additional damage and so on… are you planing on adding that with the current mod? let’s say in caves, or the entire map?is that possible?

It is possible but I am not a fan of such system. Good example of how flawed it can become was Mayhem mode in Borderlands 3 (before they started fixing it after receiving many complaints). Players had to restart their game several times till they got a decent modifiers that wouldn’t totally mess up their build/guns so such system is pretty much forcing players to play a certain way to counter these penalties and I’d rather let the players decide how they want to enjoy the mod.

first time installing this mod… quite confused on why it’s only downloaded 20% total on 1gb down internet in 9 hours so far… (installing through launcher)
