2.0.0 Update out - Asterkarn’s Shadow update - Featuring a new Mastery (Frigid Hunter)!!

as with usual modded stuff with not that much items,
dont expect to do high end sr (34+), maybe ultimate is doable tho (maybe)
The Masteries
Swampdweller
“Foolish are those who dare brave the swamps and marshes of Cairn alone, for it is home to the ever deadly Swampdwellers, humans with an affinity for acid and sadistic tendencies. Since the times of old, Swampdwellers have been known to have actively seal pacts with wendigo spirits, causing them to become ruthless, animal-like monsters that can tear foes asunder while staying physically human. Those that do not create pacts with wendigo spirits tend to master the power contained within the swamp they reside, able to combine alchemy and witchcraft to sprout forth sharp, poisonous plants in an instant, mutate nearby fauna to their will, or to bend nature around them with vile acids and witchcraft.”
These people have lived in the swamps and marshes since the times of old. They have witnessed both the birth and sealing of the Ravager across multiple time periods, the rise and fall of Arkovia, the first summoning of the Logghorean into the material plane in Asterkarn, gazed from the far reaches using their link with the primordial wendigo spirit, up to the those of the aetherials would call the “Glorious Dawn”.

Frigid Hunter
“Behind the brutality left by the work of Berserkers, there is a a soft, yet brittle side of Kurn culture. Those who resisted the surge of Ch’thon worship, and nearly driven to extinction by it, Frigid Hunters are a rare band of Asterkarn outcasts living in seclusion and adhere to three strict tenets: swift, silent, and fatal. The bitter frost of Amatok are but a plaything to them, able to infuse their deadly arsenal with its bone-chilling cold or harness it into brutal winds. Heavy spears and massive long-ranged weapons are their favored tools of mercy, though their mastery of the cold can always make do with whatever weapon in their hands.”
These are the hidden denizers of the Asterkarn Mountains, hiding from plain sight as the berserkers show and display their might to those who would enter Asterkarn. Unlike berserkers or a modern denizer of the mountain, these group of people are much more attuned to the spirits that roam the mountainpeaks, most notably Amatok, the spirit of winter. It is even said that they were the children of Amatok by outiders who managed to bear witness while they work. What has driven them to the brink of extinction of their culture was after the Kurn decided to tap into the powers of the void, which the Frigid Hunters are extremely against. To combat their newfound adversaries of the void, these hunters also worshipped Empyrion and has been bestowed gifts from it to combat the void, even though they ultimately lost and is now living in seclusion.

Item Obtaiment
As of version 2.0.0, enemies will now have a small chance to drop “Threads of Reality” these threads can be used to weave items with the help of the trusty interdimensional vinespawn, Thornellius.
Summon Thornelius by using the “Peculiar Seed” item, purchasable via the Devil’s Crossing faction vendor. It will allow you to “craft” swampdweller gear.
It can also warp certain Monster Infrequents into another version of them containing swampdweller bonuses
At sufficient levels, a drop of thread may instead drop a legendary from the mod.

NEW MASTERY - Frigid hunter!! focuses on two-handed spear and two-handed ranged, these hunters can decimate the battlefield with emphasis on speed and lethality. even though the mastery is biased towards spears and two-handed ranged, they can still make do with any weapon using their arsenal of cold-based skills and spells. also empyrion devotees and have converters to turn damage into phys and fire

New item aquisition - find “Threads of Reality”, dropped from any enemy (yes including in sr). these "threads of reality"s (im gonna refer them as threads from now on) can then be used to weave legendary swampdweller/frigidhunter gear and make vinewarped variants of MIs, replacing the need for scrap among other things.

at sufficient levels, you may find that thread drops will occasionally be replaced by a legendary swampdweller/frigidhunter gear.

Thornellius is now able to weave a “Steel Halberd” with random affixes. this item counts as a two-handed spear for Frigid Hunters leveling the campaign and other things if need be. Weaving a Steel Halberd requires scrap instead of threads

- Thornelius comes with a brand new (internal) spawning mechanism! now Thornelius has had a visit to the local interdimensional psychiatrist and the psychiatrist has managed to make it (Thornelius) less possesive (he no longer spawns randomly i hope). thanks to jiaco, mamba, and everyone who worked on Grimmest spawning mechanism.
- The old Peculiar Seed will disappear from your inventory. Rebuy the Peculiar Seed from devils crossing upon updating.

(for the blacksmith npc it’s almost a 1-1 copy from DarkestDawnReborn v02, so many thanks to that too.))
- Thornius will occasionally jumpscare you as a reminder to grab swampdweller gear (actually a bug where Thornelius will spawn randomly in certain spots, now called a “feature”)
