Patch Notes 3.8 - Update 1

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed some issues with the new affixes.
  • Stormcrow Visage: Fixed the flight animation of the Stormcrow and improved its FX effect.
  • Valthek’s Rebuke: Fixed an issue where its mythical version didn’t have the ‘Mythical’ prefix.
  • Alacrity: Fixed an issue where the base skill required dual wielding, however only its transmuter is supposed to do that.

  • Lai Yui’s Persuader: New 2h weapon designed for the Uliana’s Stratagem set.
  • Darklight: Added Lightning Bolt proc skill.
  • The Final Witness: Added Blessed Shield proc skill.

    → Health reduced from 1200 to 900.
    → Added 8% Physical Resistance.
    → Added 12% Casting Speed.

    → Modifier - Heaven’s Fury: Added 50 Lightning damage.
  • Fate of the Fell: +4 to Cyclone Strike replaced with +4 to Wave of Light. Added Fires of Heaven granted skill.
  • Gelmindor’s Marrow Handguards:
    Soul Harvest - Modifier: Poison damage increased from 1000 to 1400 over 5 seconds.
  • The Butcher’s Sickle:
    → Modifier - Cleave: Damage conversion removed. Added 32% Damage converted to Health.
    → Modifier - Frenzy: Weapon damage reduced from 20% to 15%. Flat bleeding damage replaced with 100% increased Bleeding damage.
    → Modifier - Blessed Hammer: Bleeding damage increased from 240 to 320 Bleeding damage over 2 seconds.
  • Fragment of Destiny:
    → Modifier | Spectral Blade: RatA reduced from 10% to 6%.
    → Modifier | Punish: RatA reduced from 6% to 4%.
  • Vengeful Wind: Removed Lightning damage bonuses. +2 to Inner Storm replaced with +3 to Whirlwind.
    → Modifier | Sweepind Wind: 60 Cold Damage. Lightning Damage removed. Added 100% Lightning Damage converted to Cold.
    → New Modifier | Whirlwind: 30 Cold Damage + 240 Frostburn Damage over 3 seconds.
  • The Flying Dragon: +4 to Reciprocate replaced with +4 to Whirlwind.
  • Torch of the Grand Temple: +4 to Cleave replaced with +4 to Earthquake.
  • Sword of the Ill Will: Physical damage bonuses removed. Base damage slighly increased on both versions.
    → Modifier | Chakram: Added 300 Burn Damage over 3 seconds and 100% Physical Damage converted to Fire.
    → Modifier | Fan of Knives: Added 100% Cold Damage converted to Fire and 30 Fire Damage. Burn Damage increased from 360 to 660 over 3 seconds.
    → Modifier | Blessed Hammer: Removed.
    → New Modifier | Whirlwind: 4% Weapon Damage + 60 Fire Damage + 100% Physical Damage converted to Fire.
  • Kanai’s Cube: Vanished: Updated the damage bonuses following the changes to Fury of the Vanished Peak.
  • Kassar’s Retribution: Retaliation bonuses increased. Added +1 to all Crusader skills and +3 to Wave of Light. Removed bonuses and modifier for Punish.
    → New Modifier | Whirlwind: 6% RaTA + 400% to All Retaliation Damage.
    → Modifier | Justice: No longer adds a cooldown. RaTA reduced from 40% to 20%.

SETS:

  • Patterns of Justice: Added the Tempest Rush skill to the complete set. Similar to Voracious Reach, except for the life steal.

WITCH DOCTOR:

  • Swampland Attunement: Physical resistance reduced.

BARBARIAN:

  • Threatening Shout: -% Target’s Physical Resistance reduced by 5%.

CRUSADER:

  • Smite: Energy cost reduction from patch 3.7 to 3.8 is properly applied now.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed the name of the Volcanic Eruption’s proc skill: Dust Devils.
  • Fixed an issue where the Frost Skeletons from Fate’s Vow don’t attack enemies.
  • Fixed an issue where Genzaniku had the wrong axe model.

  • Some vanilla affixes were restored. Vanilla and modded affixes now supports pratically all D3 skills. Check “Rare Affixes” on main page to look at the complete list of affixes and bonuses.

  • Empowered Envious Blade: Removed bonuses to Lob Blob Bomb. Added bonuses to Bone Spear.
  • Harvest Moon: Added +2 to Grim Scythe and +4 to Mantra of Conviction.
  • Uskang:
    Modifier | Electrocute → Now it properly increases the total damage dealt. 90% with 2 seconds cooldown (1 second cooldown + 45% Total Damage Modified for its Kanai’s Cube).
    Modifier | Hungering Shot → Removed.
    New Modifier | Multishot → 540 Electrocute damage over 3 seconds + 16% Crit damage.
  • Yang’s Crossbow: Modifier | Multishot → Lightning damage removed. Weapon damage reduced. Added 600 Bleeding damage over 3 seconds.
  • Mantle of Channeling: Added skillpoints to Whirlwind. Removed the ones to Sweeping Wind.
  • Karlei’s Point: Modifier | Fan of Knives received the following changes ↓
    → Physical to Cold conversion replaced with Pierce to Cold.
    → Now it properly decreases the total damage dealt by Fan of Knives and no longer reduces its cooldown by 100%, it reduces by 3 seconds instead (It was definitely broken with these issues).
    → Added 480 Frostburn damage over 3 seconds.
    → Weapon damage penalty increased from 40% to 45%.
  • The Wedge: Skillpoints to Seismic Slam removed. Added skillpoints to Whirlwind.
  • Akanesh, The Herald of Righteousness:
    → Both versions: Base damage: Minimum considerably increased, Maximum slightly reduced.
    → Normal version: Now it also grants +2 to all Crusader and Monk skills. Bonus damage to Chthonics and Undead increased from 15% to 20%.

  • Andariel’s Visage: Now it’s a caster head armor. 4% cooldown reduction replaced with 4% casting speed. Offensive Ability increased. Added 100% Reduced Poison duration.
    → Modifier | Death Nova: Poison damage increased from 240 over 3 seconds to 600 over 3 seconds.
    → Modifier | Acid Cloud: Acid damage increased from 40 to 80.
  • Angel Hair Braid: Chaos resistance reduced. Max Chaos resistance removed. Added Vitality resistance and 3-4% Defensive Ability.
  • Halo of Arlyse: Added Chaos resistance. Elemental resistance increased. 3% Defensive Ability replaced with 70 Defensive Ability.
    → Modifier | Frost Nova: Removed.
    → New Modifier | Punish: 100% Lightning/Physical damage converted to Cold damage. 4% Retaliation damage added to Attack. 26 Cold damage.
    → Modifier | Ice Armor: Added 200% to all retaliation damage. Reduced target’s Offensive Ability removed.
  • Arreat’s Law:
    → Modifier | Ancient Spear: Bleeding damage increased from 450 to 960 over 3 seconds. Weapon damage increased from 40% to 50%.
  • Blade of the Ascended: Retaliation damage slightly increased. Base damage → Minimum increased and maximum reduced. +4 to Mystic Ally removed. Added +4 to Cyclone Strike.
    → Modifier | Shield Glare: RAtA reduced from 30% to 10%. Fire/Lightning damage reduced from 150 to 120. Added 750 burn damage over 3 seconds.
    → Modifier | Breath of Heaven: Fire retaliation increased from 500 to 600.
    → New Modifier | Cyclone Strike: 32% RAtA + 1.0 Meter Radius + 100% Physical damage converted to Fire and Lightning.
  • Ashnagarr’s Bracers: Now it has a red visual.
    → Removed: Health regeneration and Elemental Resistance
    → Added: 40-50% Chaos resistance.
    → Increased: Offensive Ability
    → Reduced: Health.
    → Modifier | Diamond Skin: Added 12% Total Damage modified.

  • The Barber: Offensive Ability increased on both versions.

  • Mythical Bastion’s Revered:

  • Raekor’s Legacy

    Set modifier | Avalanche → Removed all old bonuses. Added 36% Weapon Damage and -0.4 second cooldown.
  • Bones of Rathma
    Set Skill | Army of the Dead → Reduction to target’s resistances increased from 16/22 to 18/24 over 3 seconds. Added 150/200 Energy cost.

BARBARIAN

  • Weapons Master: Bonuses increased to 6-72%. Physical damage scaling increased at ultimate ranks.
  • Bloodthirst: Added 18-100 bleeding over 3 seconds. Life steal reduced by 2% by max rank.
  • Sword and Board: Defensive ability increased. %Damage reduction reduced at higher ranks.
    Tough as Nails → Bonus to all retaliation increased from 80% to 100%.
  • Berserker Rage: Added 2-10% physical resistance. Health cost reduced by 20. Bonus to all damage increased.
  • Ignore Pain: Resistance to control effects increased, now it scales up to 50% at regular ranks and up to 70% at ultimate ranks. Energy cost reduced. Damage absorption scaling reduced at ultimate ranks. Added a ultimate bonus ↓
    Contempt for Weakness → Instantly restores 35% of your health when activating Ignore Pain.
  • Wrath of the Berserker: Increased the scaling of the bonus health regeneration granted by Thrive in Chaos at ultimate ranks. Bleeding damage increased.
  • Berserker: Weapon damage dealt by Sidearm increased from 18-40% to 65-100%.
  • Leap: Damage overall increased. Bleeding damage scaling increased at ultimate ranks. Energy cost slightly reduced.
  • Launch: Reduction to Target’s attack speed increased by 5% at max rank.
  • Call of the Ancients: Reworked ↓
    → Moved to tier 7.
    → Now it has a fixed cooldown of 50 seconds.
    → Damage overall increased.
    → Cleave and Weapon Throw skills removed.
    → Cooldown of their Seismic Slam skill reduced from 6 to 4.
    → Increased the Internal Trauma damage dealt by their Leap skill.
    → Added an ultimate bonus: Together as One: Receive 150 damage absorption when close to the Ancients.
  • Battle Rage: Added 10-100% Internal Trauma. Added physical damage.
  • Furious Charge: Weapon damage scaling increased.
  • Cold Rush: Now it converts Fire Damage only.
  • Battery Ram: Fire damage increased. Burn damage scaling increased at ultimate ranks.
  • Weapon Throw: Weapon damage slightly increased. Mighty Throw no longer grants chance of increased damage, now it grants 20% chance to knockdown enemies.
  • Balanced Weapon: Added 35 energy cost. Additional weapon damage increased to 60%.
  • Cleave: Burn damage replaced with Internal Trauma. Weapon damage increased.
  • Seismic Slam: Cold/Frostburn damage replaced with Physical/Bleeding damage.
  • Ancient Spear: Weapon damage increased. Bleeding damage reduced.
  • Avalanche: Energy cost reduced. Fire damage removed. Physical/Internal Trauma damage increased. Now it also has a physical damage modifier that increases it by 12-110%.
  • Earthquake: Energy cost scaling reduced. Damage overall increased. Chance to knockdown from Cave-In reduced from 30% to 20%.
  • Molten Fury: Burn damage increased. Added % Physical damage modifier. % Fire damage modifier increased. No longer reduces enemy’s elemental resistances, now it reduces all resistances by 25.
  • Nerves of Steel: Cooldown increased by 10 seconds.

DEMON HUNTER

  • Elemental Strike: Weapon damage scaling reduced at ultimate ranks.
  • Nether Strike: Renamed to Whitering Fire. Physical damage replaced with Fire damage. Disruption to target’s skills replaced with reduction to enemy’s offensive ability.
  • Steady Aim: Total damage modifier reduced from 30% to 20%. Added 30% weapon damage.
  • Cluster Arrow: Damage overall considerably increased.
  • Loaded for Bear: Burn damage scaling increased. Burn duration increased to 5 seconds.
  • Rain of Vengeance: Dark Cloud → Chance to confuse targets increased from 25% to 50%. Duration of the effect increased to 3 seconds.
  • Vengeance: Bonus to all damage increased at higher ranks. Damage absorption scaling from “Dark Heart” reduced at ultimate ranks.
  • Awareness: Cooldown increased by 5 seconds. Flat health regeneration increased.
  • Assassin Knives: Physical damage replaced with Cold damage. Physical resistance reduction removed.
  • Pinpoint Acurracy: Now it also converts 100% Cold damage to Lightning.
  • Multishot: Weapon damage increased from 25% to 30% by Rank 16, however it still scales up to 35% at ultimate ranks.
  • Fire at Will: Following the changes to Fan of Knives and Rain of Vengeance transmuters, now it also converts 100% Pierce damage to Lightning.

CRUSADER

  • Smite: Energy cost reduced. Fire/Lightning damage increased. Weapon damage scaling changed to 40-70%.
  • Shatter: Weapon damage removed. Fire/Lightning damage removed. Added electrocute damage over 3 seconds.
  • Reaping: Added flat Fire and Lightning damage.
  • Heaven’s Fury: Damage overall increased.
  • Punish: Added 10-90% Physical/Internal Trauma damage.
  • Retaliate: % Bonus retaliation reduced. Physical retaliation scaling increased at ultimate ranks.
  • Shield Bash: Cooldown reduced to 3.5 seconds. Damage overall increased.
  • Crumble: Added % bonus burn damage. Shield Cross - Damage overall increased.
  • Iron Skin: Reflective Skin - Physical retaliation reduced, however the scaling was increased to maintain the retaliation numbers gained at ultimate ranks.
  • Justice: Weapon damage increased. Base damage reduced. Energy cost reduced.
  • Burst: Weapon damage removed. Added 30-70% chance to pierce through enemies. Chance to stun targets reduced.
  • Holy Bolt: Damage penalty removed. Flat healing increased.
  • Blunt: Bonuses scaling increased from 15-70% to 10-108%.
  • Reciprocate: Lightning retaliation scaling reduced.
  • Fury: Added 6-50% Lightning/Electrocute damage. Electrocute damage scaling reduced at ultimate ranks.
  • Laws of Valor: No longer increases 10-60% all damage. Now it increases 10-100% Physical/Fire/Lightning/DoT.
  • Consecration: Added Fire/Lightning damage. Cooldown reduced from 14 to 10. Reduction to target’s damage/offensive ability nerfed. Retaliation to attack damage from Bed of Nails reduced from 8% to 6%.
  • Shattered Ground: Fire damage replaced with Burn damage. No longer reduces elemental resistances of enemies, now it reduces 4-25 of all enemy’s resistances.
  • Indestructible: Cooldown increased by 10 seconds. Health regenerated and bonus to all damage increased.
  • Fervor: Attack/Casting Speed increased by 2%. Added 4-20% critical damage.
  • Slash: Now it’s a default weapon attack. Weapon damage increased at early ranks and reduced at higher ones. Fire damage reduced. New ultimate bonus ↓

Patch Notes 3.5 - Hotfix

BUG FIXES:

  • Fixed an issue where Avalanche’s ultimate bonus wasn’t working properly. Added new ultimate bonus called “Tectonic Rift” that increases crit damage of the rocks by 50%.
  • Fixed an issue where Explosive Beasts skill granted by the complete Helltooth Harness set didn’t have a cooldown, becoming too overpowered. Added 1.5 seconds cooldown.

BARBARIAN

  • Improved the description of some skills.
  • Reduced the freeze duration of Hurricane transmuter (Whirlwind) from 2.0 seconds to 1.5 second.
  • Now Cold Rush transmuter has 3 skill points and reduces the total speed of enemies by 15%/20%/25% over 3 seconds.

does this mean there will be 9 dogs?

  • When you reactivate the “Zombie Dogs” skill, only one Zombie Dog will respawn. You need to disband all the Zombie Dogs who are still alive to spawn three new ones. If someone knows how to make it respawn all 3 pets at once, let me know.

If I’m understanding this query, you just need to set the summon skill to have the number of spawns you want in the burstspawn field. For example, if you want level 1 to spawn 1, level 6 to spawn 2 and level 10 to spawn 3, you would have your ‘burst’ array looking like this:
1;1;1;1;1;2;2;2;2;3,

That wouuld make levels 1-5 spawn 1 dog, 6 - 9 spawn 2 dogs, and 10+ SHOULD spawn 3.

Each Zombie Dog summon 1 Damned Dog (3 in total). Sorry for not making it clear at description.

At all levels, the burst number is 3. It always spawns 3 dogs at once when you use the skill for the first time. The problem is when you reactivate, it ‘kills’ one dog and spawns another one, instead of killing all of them and spawning 3 new ones at once. :confused:

What is the limit? Is it also set to 3?

Looks great. I honestly never thought the modding community for GD would reach these levels so quickly. I certainly hope Crate’s development team are watching these threads with great appreciation for what the community is capable of.

Easiest way I have found is to copy an existing item and make modifications.

I like this mastery so far, it’s a pretty good job.

Except for one thing that could be tweaked a bit: The Queen spiders.
I like everything about it but the fact that it’s slow to get into the fight because of two small delays that add up:
-The “throw jar” animation takes a bit of time but it’s cool as it is.

  • And the spiderlings summon animation.
    Only then they start engaging mobs, and ideally both could use overall faster animations or at least the latter.

Don’t know if it’s something doable, but it would suit the fast pace of the game better.

Well, it’s about a spamming skill, these delays are kind of necessary, but you’re right about the spiderlings. I’ll increase their spawn animation speed on next update :wink:

Do all the summons, inlcuding the temporary ones, scale of pet bonuses? None of them say.
