[1.1.1.2-1.1.6.2] Beginner's vitality Ravenous Earth Oppressor with leveling guide

Welcome to my thread about beginner/budget vitality ravenous earth Opressor!

Introduction

Oppressor (Oathkeeper + Necromancer) is one of the new class combos in FG. Usually when you create build you check what resistant reduction have in common both
classes. Both classes reduce vitality resistance of monsters,so it’s good way to start. And also nice overall synergy, which makes Oppressor premier class for a vitality caster.

Furthermore Dark One’s set is farm from specific mobs and is fastest set to be farmed, also other items are faction ones or crafted, some cheap greens as well. This build is excellent for players that have one or two chars and want to go to next level and farm cool gear end game, but with leveling guide is possible to use this build as first character.

Before continue big thanks to @malawiglenn the incredible guy,who theorycrafted this build and creates so many excellent beginners builds, which I use for point of reference!

Thanks also to Cutestory ,who managed to save my build and ease the process of recovery after the rollback.

Leveling Guide

I will show you diary from my leveling. Ravenous earth + Twin fangs proc is wonderful combo capable of speed leveling, especially early game. I leveled only self found, this
is just to show you my style, you are not obligated to follow it! The choices are-side with Death Vigil (mandatory for necro class) , Barrowholm, Outcast. Cult of Dreeg offers best
medal augment and recipe for amulet.

1-20

video from warden at 20+build(sorry about speed) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iji6W0A7Da4

Start with Necromancer, rush to get Ravenous earth and max it, before you can reach it use component skill like fire blast or Bone Harvest. Put a point in Spectral Binding
and after that more in wrath. Start to putting points in decay. Early on try to use off-hand. Energy consumption is high,so one with energy regen is good,if you find
ectoplasm componenent-use it.

20-40

link for 40 level char https://www.grimtools.com/calc/YZe0KpQV

Max decay and spectral wrath, push necro mastery some more to reach siphon souls and mark of torment. After that start with OK. In the beginning put points mainly in
mastery and 1 point in vire for mobility and virtue. First opportunity in act to for relic. Quest for searching the elder-click to lie and you will keep the amulet foe relic, proc
is good. If you can craft the relic at level 35 is really good.Start to use armor to cover resistances.Chance to get bonespike from mountains.

40-60

video from end game boss in normal, this time skills are in normal time-level 46 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lYCTgu9OLs

Max OK mastery, at end of scale two important skills to be maxed.Cover your resistances, this is the priority of gear! Use components for that purpose. Is good if you find
that green medal with mode to RE.

60-70

link for 70 level char https://www.grimtools.com/calc/lNko6AdN

It’s time to play in elite. RE starts to lose some power against bosses, kill trash is still blazing fast. Push necro mastery to level 40 and put points in valuable skills, if you
doing you can try ascension.

70-84

video from elite Log https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbGC-NAzvKk

10 in torment are must against bosses, they hit hard. Close call against some aetherials, but managed to survive. At 70 you can use augments with factions to cover
resistances.

84-100

Start on Ultimate.Hard grind until you reach level 90 and start to equip some end game stuff.

Budget (Recommended) Build

GRIM TOOLS :arrow_right:
https://www.grimtools.com/calc/D2pB8OyZ

Faction Gear version

This is version with MI items and faction gear only, before the farming of wonderfull Dark One set! (outdated)
https://www.grimtools.com/calc/M2gE8zgZ

Skills

Ravenous earth - main damage dealer, dps looks low,but is for single fragment and RE hits with many .Excellent for devotion procing and decay reduces incoming
damage

Bone harvest-mediocre skill in this build, but has some value in the rotation

Siphon souls-Vitality attack with healing element and blood boil is nice debuff.
Judgment - nice devotion procing skill, also can shred enemies defensive ability.

Mark of Torment - absorb and reflection-good defensive skill

Vire might - strictly for mobility

Guardians of Empyrion - With scion of Dreeg transmuter they have vitality resistances reduction now. Also some items can increase summon limit and you get extra summon at 24/16 points. They are support skill, dealing some damage and applying RR

Ascension -defensive skill with absorb , crowd control resistances and offense ability/total damage boost as well.

Passive skills for various purposes - Spectral binding OA and health,Spectral wrath for RR, Virtue for OA and energy regen.
Skill rotation - use RE often, against bosses combo of ascension+torment. When RE is on cool down, use Bone Harvest, Judgment and Siphon souls

Devotions

Key for any vitality build is to get Rattosh and Dying God. Rattosh provides - vitality RR source and DG gives massive boost to % vitality damage. Also with high CDR should be permanent. I also suggest one source of flat RR, either Revenant or Scales. Here’s the route to my current devotions configuration:

  • Green node
  • Bat
  • Viper
  • Saliro’s Guide
  • yellow node
  • Panther, remove yellow
  • Solemn Watcher
  • Lotus
  • Wendigo
  • Jackal,
  • Revenant, add red node, remove Jackal
  • Hawk
  • Rattosh
  • Dying God up to the proc

Gear

Core here is Dark one set from hidden quest, it’s target farmable set.

Weapon - Bonespike, farmed from trog enemies in some areas, best place is Mountain deeps.Look for vitality damage suffix

Off-hand - Solael reputation recipe, crafted item, add another summon to Guardians.

Amulet-Venomfire, crafted the recipe is from cult of Dreeg reputation, nice boost of Necromancer class and also skill bonus to Ravenous Earth.

Rings - Depends what you can have, Coven Sky Seal is nice stats boost and is bought from Coven reputation, another one is random blue ring.

Relic - Mortality, cheap and good, blueprint is from Malmouth resistance reputation.

Legs - crafted, Bonevald is selling blueprint, look for resistances. Option are Solael’s Guardian pants.

Medal - Useful mod for RE, farm from basilisk enemies in act 5.

Belt - Recipe is from Barrowholm faction, it can have one affix only + crafted bonus.

Boots - Mythical Final March, one of the best boots and are pretty common as well.

I suggest to craft with Angrim, armor boost/ % physique are priority. All items are used to cover resistances and are flexible ,so does components and augments. I have better ones but use
only cheapest possible components and greens, if you have better don’t hesitate to use them. Buy all components blueprints from factions.

Performance

This version will help you gather better gear, can complete some levels of Crucible, also SR until 45 or so should be easy. And the monster totems hunting should be good and Ravenous Earth is fast clearing skill with areal damage.

Video from 170 run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrEJI0vhtwY&t=34s outdated

End Game items

So Dark One is versatile set and with nice items can carry monster build as well, although Conjurer/Ritualist or Cabalist are the recommended classes. Two random sets work best as Oppressor though, Blightlord and Blood Knight, you can click on items to see them:

  • Blightlord is set boosting Guardians and Ravenous Earth, top tier.

  • Blood Knight set for vitality Bone Harvest. Cooldown reduction from Path of the Three, Ascension etc are perfect fit for this set and Bone Harvest skill.

Also look for any vitality pants and boots, best possible are:

  • Voidwalker boots for slow, DA and nice defensive proc.

  • Wendigomane pants for OA, physical resistance and

  • For rings look for random drop blue Cursebearer, Mark of Fallen, often a quest reward, Morgoneth from new FG area dungeon.

  • Off-Hand, I would say Mythical Blood Orb of Chton is great item, crafted, recipe is random drop.

  • Weapon, if you have Blood Knight set best one is Nightbringer, dropped from Grand Magus Morgoneth from FG dungeon.

  • Relic, Mortality is decent relic, Impurity is slight upgrade. I think the best possible relic is Meditation, which is Oathkeeper relic with massive boost to vitality % damage.

  • Spamming skill? In order to have some spammable skill and not full piano I recommend high casting speed - 150% to a very least to worth it. Some end game builds like my Blightlord Oppressor use skill like this. I like Biting Blades, but you need conversion from pierce and acid to vitality to utilize it. Other options, although not as good are Acid Purge, which deals split acid/vitality damage and Oblivion skill, granted by the relic Oblivion, that’s split vitality/chaos skill.

End Game builds

For end game content like farming SR or Crucible I have made two very good builds, which can be followed after you start getting better gear:

Cabalist Variant

Grim%20Dawn%202019-06-17%2001-44-33-78
*permanent buffs

GT https://www.grimtools.com/calc/lV7B8zB2

Video from SoT dungeon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APdDJjP3HCM&feature=youtu.be

Here I crafted one item with stun and one with slow. Changes : Lotus as belt, is available from any of new factions rep. Off hand is craft, recipe from Solael . Boots are Stoneplate-crafted to cover resitiances. I personally prefer Opressor, Cabalist is sturdy, but Opressor deals better damage.

Nice! You got it back up

remember to submit to build compendium again

Thanks,I will.Yesterday posted a build and update few others.Today will do the same and everything will go in compendium together.

yeah I have some serious work to do with my guides now. Damn forum reroll :undecided:

Nery - How does Bone Harvest play out with this build? I guess it’s filling the role of CC and maybe a devotion proc? I just hit lvl 11 and want to make sure I’m using things right.

Thanks for the guide!

Actually Bone Harvest is used in rotation as filler until you wait for RE to come of CD.Also Soul Harvest gives small +vitality bonus to every active attacks, including RE.At late game according to Malawiglenn is better to switch the points to Judgment, but I don’t think it will be good change.Dread is used mostly for increased range,CC effect is bad in Crucible, but is OK in campaign.

as nery wrote, when you are leveling you can use it for the soul harvest proc that give a pretty good +% vit bonus. Later on, when you have around +2k% vit dmg, you can use judgment for more DA shred. Like this https://www.grimtools.com/calc/d2jYggEN

Hmm,will Crimson lotus and Mediation better than White lotus and mediation?

Hmm good question. I basically took White lotus for the heal thing

Hi,

Newish player here (only 1600h gameplay) and i just found, what i think sick weapon for this build but it´s not bonespike. Was wondering would this still be good for this or maybe for some other build ?

  • Keawen

Newish player with 1.6k hours :stuck_out_tongue: that is 200h less than what I have

That weapon is CRAP useless garbage. It is a bone harvest weapon, so you need to make a build that focues on bone harvest instead.

Meh tought so. And newish i meant i haven´t gotten to “end” game yet. Not enough patience and/or gear/build for it :o

Btw thank you to Nery and Malawiglenn for awesome guides, with those i have been slowly getting there.

I just hit lvl 82 and killed ultimate Cronley without dying. Overall been smooth leveling but I’m starting to see my health dip rapidly more often and I think its because of hungering void. Is there something I could do to help with that or some other devotion? I fixed most of my resistances but it still feels like I may die at any second. Thanks for the build.

You need to upgrade your armor mate, and get augments, and components and more health in general.

Also remember that you might need more spirit later on when you get off-hand upgrade

Yes like Malawiglenn said armor is important, cause it’s basically negates the amount of damage equal to your armor value. In my end game build you can see I have 2k.General rule of thumb is to replace the atlrmor piece with lowest armor every few levels. If you can cap resistances, scaled hide is helping, especially for legs. For Dying god, extremely useful constellation. One trick is to to bind it to skill you’re not using often,if you’re not comfortable in leveling. For example put a point in bone harvest and bind DG.You will recieve XP for leveling devotion, but your health is not drained.

OK,some news for the build.Ascension has less uptime in recent patch changes, but our massive CDR will lessen the blow.Dying God has 5% less crit damage, but bonus vitality damage,so it’s actually good change. Also I added link to the very good end game build by x1x1x1x2.

Hi, thanks for your build! You, Stupid Dragon and Malawiglenn are the best! i find your builds/guides very helpful

“rings-First is Mark of fallen, common quest reward for killing Log”

How do i get this ring? Can i find it in one of his chest after i defeat him?

“there is vendor vitality ring for sub.”

What does it mean?

1.When you kill Lokkar, you turn the quest to Inquisitor Creed you get rewar-legendary item, you can recieve non mythical ring on Elite or mythical on Ultimate,I have at least dozen of them;)

2.Bysmiel Vile Seal from faction vendor is good substitution
